Wellness starts at Home

We are living in uncertain times and we are all adjusting to the change it brings. Being confined to our homes has now brought upon a new importance to feel comfortable in our surroundings. Seeing as we are all spending most of our time at home , there are a few important things to keep in mind on how defining a space can make a difference to your wellbeing.

Sleep - in this current climate and lockdown , our bodies are telling us to rest, our natural instincts are telling us to hibernate to survive, so the place we lay and rest is very important space in order to re-boot. Defining this area of rest by having a feature wall is a great way of achieving this. Yes of course it looks great and has a sense of luxury, but by adding this definition to the head of the bed area we are also creating our nest by defining it from other areas. Having a feature wall behind the bed head wall can also make you feel grounded in this area , and adding symmetry with cushions and lamps can add a much needed balance. The ambience from side lamps in the evening is important for relaxation and helps contribute towards your bedtime routine.

Store - keeping clutter out of sight and out of mind is worth planning properly to keep all of our daily essentials packed away. Having to see lots of clutter laying around contributes to a cluttered mind.

Work - many of us are now working from home, so its important to define a space for working from our living and sleeping space. Having somewhere to store your projects / work at the end of day and out of sight is important. This means when you pack your things away, it reminds you that you are finished for the day and that you can now relax and enjoy your evening.

The things you love - we should always surround ourselves with things we love, our homes should make us happy and make us feel inspired every day. Collecting artwork you love to display on the walls can help us create a happy space. Its also a great time to support local artists and craft makers by buying their products to create your haven. Choosing colours that lift your mood and using tactile texture through your accessories can make a huge difference to how you feel at home.

Now is a great time to start getting inspired in creating your safe haven <3
